The undergraduate thesis was an 8 month project sponsored by Dana Douglas, the leading rollator design manufacturers in Canada, Bjarki Hallgrimmisson Design, and Adrian Chan, systems engineering professor at Carleton University. The aim of this project was to explore various issues surrounding the rollator and to incorporate sensor technology into a new ‘Smart Rollator’. The project began as a group and eventually diverged into individual concentrations. It began with a research phase and then proceeded to preliminary concepts, prototyping and user testing and concluded with a final design.
